The conclusion is that Matlab enabled us to
use its built in fucntion for filtering design purposes, such as fir1 and
butter which is introduced to us in this DSP 3 lab. This lab also shows
us the difference between designing a FIR filter and also an IIR filter.
From the results and by comparing the SNR values , we can conclude that
FIR filters produce much better filter than the IIR.
But in mathematically FIR needs more computation
than the IIR filter , the outcomes may have slight difference in quality
of sound produced but the difference do not prove to be important since
it is so slightest. Therefore the IIR is more efficient compare to FIR
in this case. Therefore , in choosing the filter we wanted to use , we
must consider what we want , and what is the criteria we are looking for
, the outcomes , the computation complexity and many other important points
before implementing any kind of design.
